An Intentional(ist) February

Have you heard of Intentionalist yet?

They're a Seattle-based guide that supports and encourages intentional spending, believing that "It all starts with everyday decisions about where we buy a cup of coffee, work out, or pick up a birthday gift. Whether you identify as a localist, activist, or just a good neighbor, Intentionalist helps you contribute to the businesses that keep our communities vibrant and diverse." {Intentionalist About page}

They regularly partner with organizations like BECU, the Storm and the Seahawks and have been featured in publications including the Seattle Times, Forbes and Bloomberg. They're uplifters, connectors, and champions of small, diverse businesses, recognizing and appreciating the positive impact they have on communities.

One of the things they do (very well) is coordinate programs that support small businesses economically, driving new customers and rewarding existing ones without costing the participating customers or businesses one penny.

Whether it's partnering with BECU to offer free treats to the community, hosting drawings with our local sports teams, or securing a discounted pre-paid card program, everything they do inspires community and celebrates diversity - keeping us connected to our shared purpose and doing what they can to create the kind of world we want to live in. Which feels especially grounding right now.

If you love small business like we do, I would encourage you to check them out and to participate in their programs! With community support, we all thrive. Together.

This month we're honored to be included in 3 Intentionalist programs! Each one is hosted at no charge to us, or our customers.

Intentionalist + BECU's Tab Program (February 1-28, 2025): Stop by FACET to pick up any 2 Tochi popcorns or any 3oz honey for FREE with your Intentionalist code :). Just log-in to their site, click on our profile and hit "get a code". Bring your code to the counter with your choice of treat so we can scan it and voila - free snacks! You must register with Intentionalist to receive a code, we do not have access to codes at the store.

Receipt and Receive (February 1-28, 2025): enter to win prizes from Seattle's pro sports teams just by uploading your FACET + CITRINE receipts this month! Intentionalist has an ongoing partnership with the Storm, Sounders, Seahawks, Reign, Mariners and Kraken that make this program possible. Any purchase from any Black-owned business is eligible. There is also a no-purchase entry option detailed in the link. You do not need to register with Intentionalist to enter the drawing.

Buy Black card (year-round): think of it as a gift card or a pre-paid Mastercard that's usable at 130+ Seattle-area Black-owned businesses including FACET and CITRINE. Thanks to support from BECU, the cards are available at a 20% discount - get a $50 card for $40, a $200 card for $150 etc. The cards are good for 7 years from the date of purchase.

TLDR:

What's in it for you? Free treats, a discount and a chance at some sweet new gear!

What's in it for us? Visibility with Intentionalist, BECU and other platforms, keeping us on the radar for future opportunities. The Tab program also bolsters our sales - we are paid in full through the program, at no cost to our customers.

What's in it for the community? Support for small businesses that bring diverse experiences and vibrancy to the area. Fostering economic growth, encouraging fresh ideas and new opportunities to engage with each other.
